Camp Chrysalis offers a combination of fun, outdoor activities and therapeutic sessions for children who have suffered a loss of a loved one.
For a child, dealing with the feelings and emotions after losing a loved one can be confusing. VNA’s Camp Chrysalis, a bereavement-focused camp, helps children who have experienced a death an outlet to cope with their grief. For years, Camp Chrysalis has helped local children and is supported by the VNA & Hospice Foundation.
Taking place in the fall and spring, the camp is overseen by VNA counselors and staff. Camp activities are designed to help children work through their grief and understand that their emotions are a normal part of the grieving process. Camp Chrysalis includes:
- Recreational activities
- Therapeutic exercises
- Music therapy
